Using child information for meal planning
MealSprout is operated by Double A Media in Cottam, Ontario, Canada. It is for adult parents, guardians and authorized caregivers, not for children to use independently. Only provide a child's information if you have authority to do so.
What you provide and why
Child profiles can include a name, age or birth date, allergies, texture stage and dietary notes. Plans, meal feedback, food introductions and reactions can reveal sensitive information about a child. We use these records to apply profile restrictions, personalize recipe choices, save your plans and feedback, and provide the tools you request. A nickname and age in months can be used; a full birth date and additional notes are optional. Do not enter medical records or unnecessary identifying details in free text.
Providers and sharing
Render hosts the application and Neon stores its database. The production database is hosted in the United States, so child information is processed outside Canada. OpenAI assists with recipe selection using candidate recipes and recipe-preference history; the current selector does not send the child's name, birth date or dietary notes verbatim. This processing is still connected to your meal-planning account and is not claimed to be anonymous.
If you choose optional meal emails or push notifications, their delivery providers process the information needed to deliver them. Optional messages are controlled separately in Settings. If you create a share link, anyone with that link can view the information in the shared plan. Keep links and downloaded files private, and revoke sharing when it is no longer needed.
Important limits and your choices
AI-assisted output can be incorrect or unsuitable. Double A Media and MealSprout are not qualified clinicians or registered dietitians. Automated filters are not a guarantee of allergy safety or nutritional adequacy. Review ingredients, preparation, texture and portions, and obtain qualified guidance for your child's needs. Read the full AI and health disclosure.
Consent to the essential meal-planning use described here is required before adding or changing child information or using planning tools. It does not turn on optional email or push messages. Optional sends remain paused until your current essential choices are recorded. If you do not agree, you can still manage or cancel billing, download your application data, or close your account in Settings.
Closing an account revokes access and starts cancellation of future billing, with application-data removal targeted within 30 days. Provider-held records, required billing records and backups require separate retention review; application deletion does not erase every provider copy. Direct email support is not yet available. Read the Privacy Policy and use the available account tools in Help.
